Fall Vegetable Gardening
It's NOT too late to start some fall veggies!
If you are in the North, you may have to try to find starter plants at the nursery.   If you are down south or if you have raised beds or containers - you can still harvest some great fall veggies.
Veggies for fall growth include:
Spinach
Lettuce
parsnips
root vegetables

Container grown vegetables in small spaces

Flower Garden
Fall is the time to plant bulbs - after the first freeze!  Fall bulbs such as daylillies, tulips, daffodils, etc can be planted - prepare you soil while it is warm, so you can throw the bulbs in after the first freeze.  
TIP: use the grid plastic trays your bedding plants came in to plant bulbs that need to be lifted next spring.
While it is cool, but not freezing, clean up plants, weeds, etc. prepare for winter, by mulching and trimming up plants in the garden.


Apply weed & feed for winter root growth
clean up fountains & water feature for pending freezes.  Clean, repair and prepare bird feeds for winter seeds.
